Solid myCobot, slow shipping

I ordered the myCobot 280 M5Stack. The robot itself is well-built and performs as advertised. I like the M5Stack integration, it makes development pretty accessible. Documentation was helpful, though I did have a few questions for technical support, and they were responsive after a day or so. My only real gripe was the shipping time; it took about two weeks to reach me in California, which felt a bit long for an in-stock item. The packaging was secure, thankfully, so no damage. Overall, a good experience but the delivery could be faster.

MarsCat is so cool!

I got the MarsCat robotic pet and it's just amazing! It's so lifelike and interactive, way more than I expected. Setup was a breeze, and it's been so much fun watching it explore. The charging station is super convenient too. I'm already eyeing a myCobot for a project. Will definitely shop here again!

Great value on myCobot 320

I was looking for a collaborative robot and found the myCobot 320 here. I actually waited for a holiday promotion before buying, and it definitely paid off. The discount I got made it a really good deal compared to other brands I was looking at. The shipping was free too, which was a nice bonus for such a large item. For what I paid, I feel like I got a solid piece of tech. It integrated into my workspace without much fuss, and I've been using it for a few weeks now. Very happy with the overall value.

Thinking about getting a myPalletizer 260 for a project. Is it pretty easy to get returns if it doesn't quite fit what I need? Just wondering about their policy.

I Ivy Doyle 1 month ago

I returned an end effector that wasn't right, and it was pretty straightforward. Just make sure you initiate it within 14 days and everything's in original packaging.

B Brett 1 month ago

Yeah, returns are fine, but you usually have to cover return shipping if it's not defective. Check their site for the exact details, but it's not a huge hassle.

Is the MarsCat really worth it? Like, does it actually do cool stuff or is it just a glorified RC toy? Saw some mixed reviews.

B Brett J. 1 month ago

It's definitely more than an RC toy, it reacts to touch and stuff. But don't expect it to be a real cat, lol. It's cool for what it is, very much a robot pet.

I think it's fun for tinkering. You can program it and everything. No subscription needed which is a plus.

Hey, thinking about grabbing a myCobot 280. I'm in New York. Anyone know how long shipping usually takes to the East Coast?

J June Brooks 2 months ago

Mine arrived in about a week to Philly, so NYC should be similar. They ship from China, but it was pretty quick.

B Beth 2 months ago

Yeah, I got my MarsCat in like 8 days to Florida. It was surprisingly fast for international.

Does Elephant Robotics do any Black Friday sales? Want to get a myCobot but hoping to snag a deal.

B Brett Whitfield 2 months ago

Oh yeah, they totally do! I got my myCobot 320 for like $50 off last Black Friday. Keep an eye out around November.

B Ben K. 2 months ago

They usually have discounts for BF and Cyber Monday. Sometimes bundles too, so worth waiting if you can.

Comparing the myCobot 280 to something like a Dobot Magician. Any thoughts on which one is better for a beginner in robotics?

T Tara 1 month ago

The myCobot 280 is pretty user-friendly and has good ROS support if you're into that. I found the docs good for getting started.

M Mark 1 month ago

I haven't used the Dobot much, but the myCobot is open source, which is a huge plus for learning and community support, imo. Plus, a bunch of different dev boards are compatible.
